Winner of the 2025 Best Symphonina of the Year composer competition, Christopher Siu is a classically trained pianist, composer, arranger, educator, and educator. He achieved his ARCT Diploma with Distinction at the age of 14, and has had the opportunity to perform in Toronto's Roy Thomson Hall, as well as on Glenn Gould's own piano, and with the NYCO Symphony Orchestra. As a composer and orchestrator, Chris has had the pleasure of working alongside some of the world’s most talented musicians including Tina Guo and Anne-Kathrin Dern. His music has been performed in prestigious venues, including Toronto's Steinway Gallery, The Royal Conservatory of Music, the Kammermusiksaal of the Philharmonie in Berlin, and by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra in Hungary. Chris' Symphonina No. 1 (Hope) encapsulates his love for memorable themes, lush harmony, and vibrant orchestration. Through three contrasting movements, his piece is sure to delight newcomers to the genre and seasoned musicians alike.
